The Energy 2040 Commission
In 2012, in the wake of the Great Recession, the Alliance convened the Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy, bringing together leaders from business, government, and academia with the goal to double the nation’s energy productivity by 2030. The resulting policy framework, Energy 2030, played a vital role in driving economic growth and job creation.
A decade later, the landscape has shifted, and we face even greater challenges. Our new mandate is to make energy efficiency the most impactful, cost-effective driver of the just energy transition, reducing domestic emissions by 40%, while advancing equity, reliability, and affordability for customers.
